Marquette 10% more revenues than Nova? Wow. Only 5 BEC teams on the List: Marquette, Nova, Xavier, G*Town, and Providence.
Nebraska just below Marquette and State schools sure the heck dominate it.
I'm surprised Dayton is on the list and that Gonzaga's 'take' is so low.
Still, I see no reason on God's green earth why we shouldn't be on that List.
Bad historical management of a once relevant program.
Here's hoping we get it 'right' again.

Marquette constantly sells out a larger arena than Nova which plays most games on campus.

While the article is new, it's worth noting this is from the 2017-18 season. I'd be surprised if we weren't on the 2018-19 list.

Agreed. But I wonder, does the cost of MSG rent significantly hit our revenue? Or is that not included in this analysis?

I believe this list is just revenue (not expenses). In terms of profit (revenue - expenses) we would be negatively impacted by MSG expenses.

Interesting that a scholarship basektball player at Syracuse is "worth" $1.2 million in revenue. Of course this is not net.

I wonder is this includes giving that is directly allocated to the basketball program.

These numbers are surprising. Purdue plays in a sold out on campus arena that seats 14,862 people. They get a piece of the Big 10 Network television money. Yet less than 10 million in revenue?
By comparison Northwestern plays in an arena that seats 8k. They get the same television money. Yet their revenue is 10 million more?

Just a thought. Maybe apparel sales are a significant driver? It would certainly help to explain the St John’s number (or lack there of).

I'm sure it inflates the Duke number, too. Remember, Cameron only seats about 9K, so they can only make so much money off of ticket sales.

It was only a few years ago where UCONN and Louisville were the highest grossing athletic program including ALL revenue producing sports at about $50 million. I'm guessing TV money has increased dramatically because ticket prices and attendance for these schools hasn't

Lol @ PC being on there. We should be blowing them out of the water in terms of relevancy and revenue. They have like 5,000 students tiny little school. Beautiful campus but it's an abomination that we cannot be on the same level if not higher than PC.

Just a thought - with our highest attendance in 27 years or something like that, our numbers should go up for this season. But you are right - PC's fans support their team better I guess.

Doesn't make sense. Not talking about PC the school...it's a very good college and well-respected academically. I was talking strictly in terms of their hoops program. We have many more famous alums, wealthier donors, way more enrollment, way more alums, much more merchandise, and definitely much stronger branding. Can't understand this one...our attendance was near sellout for both CA and MSG all season. Don't think they did that well.

As noted in article, these are 17-18 figures.

No apparel across the board is mostly a guaranteed number from manufacturer but then third parties get their piece as well
