1) Will St. John's make the NCAA Tournament?

Obviously I'm hoping yes but I'll estimate a 30% chance at this point. There are some tough games to finish out the season. Can D'Angelo step up, will the team learn to dribble penetrate and then pass (e.g. to Bourgault), can we maintain intensity for 40 minutes, can we hit foul shots, so much uncertainty...

2) Jamal Branch's injury recovery?

I hope he's healthy and ready to play full strength ASAP but the outlook is not positive -- good chance, it seems, he may be out until next season. When it's all said and done, I think his could develop into a fantastic college career.

3a) Jakarr Sampson to the NBA?

He certainly does not look as complete a player as Maurice Harkless did and it seems preposterous that he would be a lottery pick based purely on potential (far off) despite the weak 2013 draft prospect. I'm praying this doesn't happen because it would be devastating to our team next year.

3b) Recruitment for 2013? 2014?

Jermaine lawrence going to Cincinatti was a big blow but at least we got Obepka who chose us over them. That guy from Philadelphia is a PG -- I'd rather have a big. Mudiay 2014? I'd like to hear about more recruitment targets...

I'd love to hear someone smarter than me provide some feedback about the above...

I think we have a much better chance of making it than 30%. I think this team can win four more games and that would put us in for sure. Three more wins and we probably have a 90% chance of making it.

We need Branch for any chance at the tournament...I think he'll be fine.

Sampson to the NBA is a joke at this point. The only reason it is coming up is because our fans are scared from Harkless. Sampson can not play a position in the NBA until he drastically improves his skills. He looks like a three year player to me.

Agree about Sampson but the truth is Harkless wasn't ready either but he went for it and got the money, so good for him. If Sampson gets the same opportunity he's gone

I think we have a better chance than 30% also

I also think Branch will play, my guess Prov

Sampson doesn't have the game Harkless had at this point last year, I hope he stays and think he should stay at least one more year.

I did notice Branch walking at the USF game without crutches or limping. Hopefully its a good sign.

I couldn't agree with you more about Harkless. He wasn't ready, but he was a legit 6'8.5 with guard skills, great length, and a sweet shot. He was also in the first round in every mock from November on. Sampson has not appeared on a single mock...even as a second rounder. He was a lock for the first round. Sampson could very well go undrafted or taken in the second round and not make a roster. Their situations are much different.

As for the team, I'd like to add that it is time for them to start playing like a tournament team. They haven't yet, but the opportunity is there. A road win at Providence and a pair of wins at home to end the regular season would put us at 19 wins and boost the RPI into the 40's.

Didn't say he was going or will even have the opportunity to go; I just think being ready has little or nothing to do with being drafted aftter the first couple of picks; it is all on potential now. If Sampson thinks he will go 1st round (and I don't see the opportunity being there either) he is gone.

Don't know if you guys noticed but this week Moe put up 15 on Tues night and 20 on Weds night. ESPN reckons he will see increased minutes now that JJ Reddick is gone to the Bucks.

You forgot the most important concern off all. When will lavin finally unveil those new jerseys he promised us? ;)

I got a hunch it will be this sunday

I'd like to hear someone speak on the recruiting concern, since I've had the same one and admittedly haven't been following it too closely this year. How many ships will we even have to give out next year and the year after?

I feel we have really been hard on Jakarr on this thread. He is the reason we have so many wins this year. Is he an NBA superstar? No, but he the best player on our favorite team. Be cool guys. Of course we don't want him ever to leave. But if he does, we should be thankful for what he has contributed already!

I feel like they won't be worn this year. We first heard of them before our first G'Town game forever ago. We have like 4 games left...doubt we wear them now. The only special occasion I can think to wear them now is the Big East tourney but we haven't heard a peep so it was probably just a huge rumor.
