What are yours? I saw this posted on another site so I thought I would do it here now that we are officially at T-Minus one week before we start our new era. So what are your Top 5 Favorite Big East games that you attended (ok, you can list one even if you didn't attend it). The wins against Duke would have made the list but I want to go with conference games only. If you need a refresher, take a look at the slideshow below, it's a way of saying that the Big East will continue to "Shine On".

As for my Top 5 here they are in no particular order:

1. The 6 OT game at the 2009 Big East Tournament, it's tough to have a non St. John's game on this list but that was an incredible atmosphere that night.
2. STJ vs UConn @ MSG 1992. A CBS game, the Huskies were on a roll, we were stumbling but Malik Sealy & Co destroyed UConn from start to finish.
3. STJ vs Syracuse @ MSG 1989. The Redmen were a freshman dominated team but Sherman Douglas hurt his back & we shocked the Orangemen.
4. STJ vs Syracuse @ MSG 2007. Avery Patterson, Qa'Rann Calhoun (yes I did) and Mase knock of the 15-4 Orange 64-60.
5. STJ vs Pitt @ MSG 2011. Hardy with the layup, it's good! The exclamation point of our comeback season.

Honorable Mention - STJ vs Pitt 2006 @ MSG, with the St. John's Legends in the House, we knock off 15-0 Pitt 55-50.

I'm younger so mine are a bit more recent but

1) Hardy layup against Pitt in 2011
2) Wiping the floor with UCONN in the Big East tourney in 2010 and sending them to the NIT.
3) Wiping the floor with UCONN at MSG in 2011.
4) Kemba Walker breaking McGhee's ankles then hitting the buzzer beater. Was sitting courtside for that one, it was right before our game vs. Cuse.
5) Larry Wright game winning 3 vs. Notre Dame in 2007

One of my biggest regrets was missing this game. I was a student at STJ, and I looked at my tickets and thought there was no way we could win (or qualify for the tourney) so I drove up to Ithaca to see my girlfriend at the time. I watched the game from her dorm room and I was kicking myself the whole game.
I can't believe I missed it!!!!

I was in Grad school. I was 7 rows back..sitting in my student section seats. Back then it was first come...first serve for student season seats.

My memory gets so foggy thinking about past basketball games but in no specific order I'd put the Hardy last shot Pitt game, the NCAA Tourney game when we smoked Ohio State in 1991 and when I went down to Maryland for the game we beat Georgetown back in 1990 when we were losing the whole game and Boo Harvey hit a last second shot ( one of many that year ) to win the game for us.

Toss in any game we beat Duke

I guess the Duke wins will always rank at the top but those were not Big East wins. ; )

well I guess I need to take out my NCAA Ohio State game :)

Would the day Norm got canned be considered a Big East moment ? Maybe toss in the day Jarvis got canned also

MJ, I almost choked to death from laughing while eating. That was funny.

Hardy lay up
Hatten foul shot to win over DUke
Bootsy 40 point game, Ron hitting the three to take it to overtime against Duke. I was sitting in the last row at the Garden, the Arena was PACKED!!!!!
Stj winning the NIT over Gtown, students storming the court. Good times

Wow that would be a hard list so I am just going to list the couple that stand out to me....
Bootsy's 40
Jerome Lane destroying the backboard against Providence
Villanove beating Gtown in NCAA finals
The sweater game
Berry swatting Pearl in 86 BE championship

I was living in Virginia during the 83-84 season and got to watch SJU beat the Hoyas at the Capital Center. G'town won national title that season, and had thug Michael Graham starting with Ewing, Martin, Jackson and Wingate. Redmen had big lead and held on for the win. Mullin, a junior, had a great game, despite a number of cheap shots from Graham and Ewing. Sweet.

There have been a lot of mentions of non BE games, so here's my list of BE only highlights

1.) Beating gtown in Landover and being ranked #1, after that they beat us 3 times including BE finals and national semis, but that win was the best.
2.) Ron Rowan's last minute banker followed by the Truth blocking the Pearl to win the BE title in '86. I think the only lead we had was at the end.
3.) Beating BC to win the BE in '83. As we played it out David Rusell threw down a vicious tomakawk dunk as he drove the baseline and Billy Goodwin was on the cover of SI holding a "We are St. John's" sign sitting on top of the basket.
4.) Beating yukon to win the BE title in 2000, after almost blowing the semi to Miami, Anthony Glover sealed the 1 point win in that one with two clutch fts at the end
5.) Dwight Hardy's amazing game winner against Pitt.

Great BE-only list. Agree with each one (although I might exchange spots for 1 and 2).

Restricting this list to Big East Games that I've seen in person:

1. Boo Harvey's game winner at Gtown, and one of my first overnight roadtrips

2. The entire 2000 Big East Tournament

3. 2002 game v UCONN. Calhoun ejected, OT thriller.

4. An Alumni Hall game Felipe's senior year against ranked West Virginia. Jayson Williams hosted an all-star party, so there were a lot of celebrities, and I think more then 6008 people there. Place was rocking.

5. Sly Fox Inn bus trip to Villanova 2 years ago. Those of you who went remember it very well.

Honerable Mention: Hardy vs. Pitt, Gtown game from that same year, Jan 2000 win at Gampel (first of three v UCONN that year), 1992 win over UCONN to break BE tourney losing streak, 1999 BE semies win over Miami (which avenged two regular season defeats).

Non-Big East would be Duke game from Lavin's first year, and the NCAA tournament wins over Indiana and Maryland in 1999.

#3 was doubly good, not only was Calhoun ejected in the first half but Letaio was thrown out in the second. ;) And if you're talking bus trips, the year we went to the final four, we went down to Philly and beat nova, in that game I remember Chris had the ball under the basket, head faked Pinckney, put it in and was fouled, we won that game at the Spectrum by 2 and wound up winning two regular season nail-biters before we handled them by 15 in the BE tourny

I think Leito only got 1 Technical, not 2.

There were a lot of bus trips in the 80s. The Red-White Club (known as the Chefitan Club back then) used to run them, I believe. I remember going to the first game ever played at Gampel Pavillion on of those trips, but the game was best forgotten.
