Top 25 Players in College Hoops

#24

Few players in D-I have been more ill-treated by conventional wisdom than Harrison. Last season he was named first-team All-Big East in spite of the fact he was statistically the single least successful high-volume 2-point shooter in major-conference basketball.

And this season? The Johnnies are said to be in disarray (and they kind of are) and the spotlight has moved on to more au courant tri-state flavors of the month such as Seton Hall. Meanwhile Harrison has upped his game dramatically. The senior has scored 56 points over the past two games, and he's raised his 2-point accuracy by 14 percentage points -- from 39 to 53 -- since last season. One of these days conventional wisdom and the reality presented by Harrison will at long last unite in serene accord.

pretty much exactly what I said recently about his rep catching up to the player he is now.

I've been the chief detractor of Harrison for his low shooting percentage, and felt the key to our season was him elevating it into the mid 40s at least. If he continues his excellent shot selection along with good decisions on when to penetrate, he can keep his % at or above current, and we will win more than our share of games.
