Does anyone have access to ESPN Insider? They have a list of the top 25 Freshmen in the Country. Did Harkless or Harrison make the list??

Yes, Harrison made the list.

 16. D'Angelo Harrison, St. John's Red Storm

"File under "Eli Carter, only more so." On paper, Harrison's making just 43 percent of his 2s as a 6-3 wing, but, like Carter, this freshman's got a lot on his plate. Specifically, Harrison's the leading scorer for a Big East team with zero veterans and an acting coach."

Harkless did not make the ESPN top 25 freshman.

There are not 25 better freshmen than Mo. That's a bad job by whoever compiled the list.

Agreed. As much as I love D'Angelo, IMO he's second to Mo on SJU.

Although I think both deserve to be in the top 25, there is no question D'Angelo has been a more clutch performer than Moe so far. Moe has been steady and playing out of position hurts him no question but based on the on-court results, D'Angelo has been better.

If I am coach I show Mo the article and hope he uses it to light a fire under himself. There are not 25 freshmen in the country better than Mo IMHO.

Although these silly articles are subjective at best, it does show you how difficult it is to become an NBA first round draft pick, no less a one or two and done. That is what Harkless was proclaimed by most on this site after his 32 point explosion. While I wouldn't proclaim that the NBA isn't in his future, he has a lot of work to do, game in and game out, to prove to the country he is even one of the top freshmen, no less best players. The talent is there, and a deeper supporting cast will help, but the rest is up to Harkless (or Harrison or anyone else) to simply go out there and outplay Big East competition every night. A tall order for first year players, but all of these minutes they are getting now, instead of scrambling for mins like most freshmen, could pay dividends down the road.

Could not agree more. Unless Harkless or Harrison was guaranteed to be a top ten pick in next year's draft,
I wouldn't dream of leaving school. Both of these players have shown a great knack for scoring and with a better supporting cast and more discipline, they have the potential to develop into great college players and possibly NBA regulars down the road. Unfortunately, so often players get eager and jump for the sake of jumping. Take the opportunity to learn from our wonderful coaching staff (Lavin, Dunlap, Keady, Hines, Chiles) who will prepare you for the next phase. Be a part of something special and really develop your game.
