12.Julian Champagnie – Junior, Saint John’s 2020-21 Stats: 19.8 PPG, 7.4 RPG, 1.4 SPGAfter a solid season last year, the Red Storm are ready to take a big step forward and the main piece for that will be Julian Champagnie. Champagnie is a 6’8 forward that is a perfect modern-day 4 man, he’s a good shooter, pure scorer, and good defender. Champagnie will have a good chance to collect some individual awards himself, while he should lead Saint John’s back to the NCAA Tournament.

It's not a total surprise, because defense is probably undervalued and not accounted for in these rankings, and Posh is a rare breed as a truly impactful defender at the PG position.  I like the Harris kid on Butler, but I don't know how you rank him above Posh.  I don't know how you rank him above Freemantle or Scruggs either, for that matter.

It’s absolutely infuriating to see them put two incoming freshmen at Duke and Gonzaga on this list before ever playing a college game.  Get the freshmen off these lists.  We’ve seen a million busts before and incoming freshmen should never be on these lists.

They already are picking Duke’s Banchero as “likely ACC POY, and national POY candidate” lol

Pretty weak group this season.
IMO, Mamu > Timme and he was taken 54th.  How can Timme be 1st?
Underrated:
Dawson Garcia at 84
Nembhard at 61

As a college player you’d take mamu over Timme?

I just think that if Mamu were on Gonzaga last season we wouldn't even know who Timme is.

Mamu is dynamic and Timme can't jump over a sheet of looseleaf

Mamu is a more versatile offensive player than Timmy. And if Timme doesn’t expand his game Mamu’s is currently better suited for a potential career in the NBA, although I don’t think he’s an guarantee to have that.

on the college level give me Timme over Mamu. Timme a more traditional low post guy in the college game but incredibly crafty, very good rebounder and passer.

I don’t think it’s crazy to think mamu is better than Timme if roles were switched. I loved mamu but I would take Timme.

Hear you. Also Mark Few is a great offensive coach. I’m not sophisticated enough to know what he does on that end, but he’s obviously great at it. Willard is a solid coach - when not concealing career threatening injuries from his star player to enrich his own career (I kid, I kid) - but he’s no offensive mastermind. So fair to think Mamu at Zags surrounded by that type of talent and coaching might have looked even better.

What Timme had over Mamu as a college player last year was consistency. I'm not smart enough to know how much of that is a factor of better coaching but Mamu went from dominant to almost invisible from game to game. I'm not expecting either to be outstanding NBA players, but could be way off there.
