Behind. But SJU and Lavin certainly deserves to be on the "it could happen here" list. Telep is a NC guy. SJU recruiting like NCSU is. This year's class doesn't have the big name flair that would bring it a top rankingnsomim guessing that is why we aren't there. I still think the talent in this SJU class is underrated. Like I said though, I prefer to sneak up on people and we will.

Now, if any of those things were major reasons why kids sign you might have a point. Unless you want to include boosters with fat wallets in the fan category these are all secondary considerations to making it to the NBA. Trust me, if SJU had it's act together in that dept. all those other factors would all but disappear. We have everything we need except a solid winning record.

Kentucky is Kentucky and top notch recruits are just that. They go to college to expedite their entry to the pros - not the ivy covered walls and hayrides. They have no time for that anyway. The kind of kids that would be concerned about campuses etc. are not the ones we are recruiting. Sure, there are a couple of student athletes around but they are a rarity. The NBA doesn't care about GPAs and most stars are in this for a buck, period.

With the exception of almost 10 players this year, these recruits will be staying in school for more than a year. You really dont think that the campus and fans are a major factor in their recruiting? Who wants to play at a school with an ugly campus in front of no fans?
