Tony Soprano R.I.P.

I'm not sure when he arrived in Rome, but someone mentioned the good prophylactic habit of taking a baby aspirin (81mg of ASA) prior to flying a long distance to thin the blood a little, since blood tends to pool during a long flight. The thinner blood makes it easier for the heart to do the work to regain normal circulation. Age and obesity are contributing factors to hearts attacks after a long flight. During a long flight it's also important to get up, walk around once or twice an hour, and not sit with your legs crossed.

I didn't know this but some doctor on CNN last night said the average age for someone's first heart attack is in the 60's, not 51 even with his big frame.

his first wife complained in divorce papers he was a heavy coke user and an alcoholic.

if that's true, he'd need more than baby aspirin.

personal experience. we were at a pro-union rally in nyc a few years ago. he was a decent, caring guy.

He admitted to those demons as well.

Talk about eery- There is a clip on YouTube I couldnt find today but saw last night. Where they stage an intervention for Christopher and Chris gets pissed going around the room taking shots at Paulie and Silvio and then says to Tony- "the way your eating yourself you're going to die of a heart attack by the time you're 50"

My fiancee worked with him on Sopranos for 1 day and while a lot of these big stars can be Divas she said he was so down to earth and nice to everyone and pretty humble guy. In that business that can be rare

On a serious note the woman who played Ginny, Denise Borino-Quinn, passed away at the age of 46, and I will never forget the scene when Ralphie tells the boys "they just removed a 95lb mole from Ginny's ass"

I met him several times along with Tony Sirico/Steve Shirripa/Joe Gannascoli/Buschemi etc.. at the wounded warriors fundraisers on SI.. really good guys who were incredibly in generous in many ways. RIP..

Paulie Walnuts (Tony Sirico) lived in the same building in Brooklyn with our cousin. Paulie's acting wasn't too much of a stretch, since he spent some time "away" in his past. Our cousin had a weekly poker game, and one night his friends were leaving the apartment at the same time Paulie was coming home. When he saw three or four guys in the hallway coming towards him as he opened his door, he quickly grabbed a baseball bat to challenge them. Thankfully our cousin, who knew him, had to calm him down and tell him they were his friends.
