A few notes from my visit to St. John's:

1. A lot of praise for RJ Luis, who may have highest upside of anyone on the roster.

2. Daniss Jenkins is on pace to graduate and be cleared. Has been around the team a lot, just can't do workouts.

3. Rick Pitino raved about Zuby Ejiofor's motor and work ethic. Has gotten better of Joel Soriano at times.

4. Today was Chris Ledlum's first day of workouts.

5. The hope is to have three high school recruits signed during the early signing period.

6. There are talks for a major remodeling of Taffner Fieldhouse. There are diagrams. All told, would cost #35 million.

Man I can’t wait to see this.

Glad to hear there are at least 'diagrams' for a 35mm project...lol
All good News . It’s a good thing that Jenkins already knows the Pitino offense and defense . It won’t take him long to catch up with his new teammates .

Seems initial reviews on Luis , Dunlap , Ejiofor , Wilcher , Conway , etc all all good . Soriano and Alleyne will be fine as will , the team ‘s brainiacs , Ledlum and Dingle . Haven’t heard much about Ayo, Cruz, Taylor , Traore yet .

Over a text with Zach, he described Taylor as more of a glue guy.
The wings have their work cut out for them. Pitino has historically spread the minutes out at the 3 more than other positions. The competition there will be crazy this year.

You still got Luis 3rd?

I don’t think that Pitino will have any trouble allocating PT to this Team and doubt there will be any malcontents either . I figure he’s going to look at the entire Roster early in Fall Practice before putting his best 10 out there .

He may Redshirt selectively , of course . But , doubt if Dunlap or Wilcher will be among them . They didn’t come here to sit a year . And , don’t think Pitino sees them sitting either .

He’s got to replace 6 players from this Year’s team as there eligibility is expiring .

Soriano , Ledlum, Dingle , Conway , Alleyne , Jenkins .

I would say , from all Reports that Dunlap , Wilcher , Luis , Taylor , Ayo , Traore , Cruz will be vets next season .

Plus , whom ever Rick brings in on the Portal and from HS . Will be the newbies .

You

I haven’t really taken a deep dive on it since before we landed Wilcher and Ledlum and lost QS.

The QS loss is interesting because it takes away an elite shooter from the 4 position. That hurts slashers like Wilcher and Taylor. It opens the door much wider for Dunlap and Conway.

The Wilcher addition unlocks more lineup combos for Alleyne with his ball-handling. Now you can run out Wilcher-Alleyne-Luis and there is enough ball-handling and shooting.

I think a lot of this turns on how good of a shooter Jenkins is this season. Is he the 24% shooter we saw at Pacific, the 36% shooter last year, or something in the middle?

I’d say I have Alleyne starting at the three. I’d move Luis ahead of Taylor based on the positive reports and loss of QS.

Agree 100% the Ledlum for QS swap is a good opportunity for the shooting wings.
