Does anyone know the particulars (ie: time, cost, etc)?
Is there usually a packed house for this event?
I couldn't find any information on redstormsports.com
Either my computer skills suck or the athletic dept. sucks
Knowing me and St John's, it's probably a combination of the two

I've been to the last few so let me answer all i can:

1) It's free admission (atleast has been)
2) It's not usually a packed house but a solid crowd
3) the athletic dept does suck... its usually a last minute thing where they try to dish out all the info

Hope this helps

Last year the press release came out with details on October 14th for the October 16th event.

No sense revealing our secrets. :)

It's not you or your computer. Calling the athletic department an amateur operation would be an insult to those operations that are led by entrepreneurial amateurs. There's virtually nothing on the website about it and there hasn't been a social media post about it in weeks. There was also virtually no marketing or heads-up about the Staten Island event either.

Never thought I would say it, but I miss Fratto. Spot on Theo!

Unfortunate but so true. At some point the powers that be are going to have to decide if they want to be in this major college basketball game or not. start by hiring a new AD before my kid starts college ( she is 18 months old ) .. Next grow this fan base..sure older ticket holders could not care less about tip off events /midnight madness but kids really enjoy it and that is why it's so important to not only market it correctly but also do it right. Giving away burritos and shooting t shirts out of a cannon is amateur hour ( probably sour grapes on my part because I never received a burrito) but you get the idea . Of course with all this being said the absolute most important thing is putting a good product on the court .

I like the cannon. I liked it more when they used to shoot that thing straight at people at Carnessecca and I think I remember it almost taking off Lawman's head one time many years ago :)

Progress; the banner is not upside down & carrier pigeons on the ready.

What gets me about that cannon at MSG is they hardly ever aim it at my side of the court. :p ;)

For the past two years the athletic department has been basically leaderless. It's a miracle that the individual sports get any publicity or support. It's as if President Bobby is allowing everyone to do their own thing which, in the long run, when there is a real athletic director, can cause some structural problems if soccer, baseball and basketball have been allowed to build walls around their respective sports.

Did someone actually replace Fratto, or is it an unpaid intern? Honestly, being SID at a non-football school doesn't seem all that tough. . .

He was replaced, but new guy seems to lack Fratto's experience & aggressive social media approach. (Admittedly a bit much at times)
