Watching the MSU - Iowa football game late last night made me think how ridiculous it is to open the college bb season in mid Nov. Since college football added the playoff system the importance of the games played in Nov have made the college bb games played in that month
meaningless to all fans with the exception of posters like ourselves.
Start the season this week and play the majority of the season (Feb thru Apr) after the super football.

I don't see anything wrong with the way it is now. Yea college football and NFL gets all the shine through the first two months and a little in January but February and March is when college basketball is most interesting anyway and it gets full attention.

Honestly, out of conference play and pre season tournaments are not that exciting. Conference play is when it gets really fun. So I don't see any reason to push it back

College basketball is a two-semester sports dominating major trunks of fall and spring semester. Considering all of the at-risk student athletes who play d1 basketball, on that basis alone shortening the season makes sense

There is a school of thought that the NCAA and maybe the Presidents are considering about pushing the season back so that it starts and ends later (I have to look for the article).

I believe it should be cut back enough so you don't have teams make it to the final having played 40 or 41 games like some recent teams (UConn, Kentucky, Louisville). 32 - 35 is plenty.
