Called atlantis hotel to purchase tickets and was told that the only way you could buy basketball tickets is by being a guest at the hotel. We have reseverations at the Comfort Inn and Suites and were told we not be able go to the games next November. Could some one tell me if she was right? If she is right then how could we buy the tickets in advance and let in the game without staying at atlantis

I called Altantis yesterday for update on ticket/package availablility... Was told no info available yet and weren't sure when it would be.
When I did some google searches about this past 2015 event, it seems that some of the teams participating didn't share any info on their school athletic sites about tickets until the spring time.

We have wanted to go to the Atlantis forever, so this is our chance. I will be going and booking airfare first and then trying to secure game tickets. For what it's worth - Atlantis is now part of the Marriott family - so if you travel a lot like me - that may help with a decent room, just be ready to pay for it. Not sure if we can use points - but we will try.

this is what I have been debating... Do I book airfare, block a room and then cross fingers that I get tickets ? While I'm sure ticket package info will ultimately come and I'll be able to get them, I'd hate to book all this and for some crazy reason I get shut out of tickets

Well...we booked the airfare tonight. I live in philly now and we only one non stop per day - which was already almost sold out. Going down Wednesday am - returning Sunday am. Hotel (Atlantis) will be next and I guess we will worry about game tickets in the summer. Let's stay in touch with this topic and thanks to whoever started it.
bit the bullet and booked airline tickets as I saw a direct flight for same price as 1-stop and there were only few seats left (leaving from Charlotte)
I may tentatively book reservation for Atlantis knowing they have free cancellation. I've noticed two things though.. The room rates keep going up... Within a week it went up +$50/day earlier this week, and then went up another $1.50/day from yesterday to today. Wondering if they play with online posted rates as it gets closer to weekend and more people are home on weekend and make travel arrangements. Kind of like a gas station.
I state this because I noticed on Gonzaga school sites for the 2015 event, it seems that the hotel part of the package was 20% off room rate if a 4 night stay and buying game tickets. 20% sounds good but may not be really 20% if they keep raising room prices from now until packages.

I have another e-mail into Atlantis asking if I book room now, and packages come out later would I still be able to get the special rate applied to existing reservation (could always cancel and/or re-do under wife name and card). Their e-mail customer service is pretty slow.. Usually 2+ days to get a response and they always preface it with an apology that the delay is due to computer problems.
