Thoughts/Complaints

Team is just undermanned right now, going to be a tough haul the rest of the way. Bad luck and poor management got us here. Injuries hurt, but shame on this staff for assembling such a small bench.

A coach used to yell at me all the time; "Don't shoot from the outside if there's no one under the basket." Good advice, maybe one the many coaches could try instilling it in this team?
One of the reasons no one is under the hoop is that our center worked hard this off season on his outside game. Great that he's working hard, but perhaps he should have been working on some barbells instead of wanting to be a shooter. Then he wouldn't be getting pushed around in the paint like a rag doll?
Trimble is the only guy that can hit a 3 the last couple games, can we find a way to get him more shots? I mean, do we have ONE play in the playbook that can free him up for a shot? ONE?
Ahmed, does he have an assist yet this year??
On to the "coaching", if we can call it that? Short bench, limited talent, you need to play zone for portions of the game so your overplayed guys have something in the tank at the end. Dumbest thing was with a couple minutes left, down 8 or so, they ran the shot clock down under ten! Hello! Offense/ defense, last minute, there's a whistle on pretty much every possession , Clark has 4 fouls, you have to put Yakwe on d, to try to save Marvin. They did the same thing last year with Mussini, who should have never been in on defense late in a game.
Don't shoot from the outside if there's no one under the basket.
How has Justin Simon made it this far without someone working on his shot/form? The Johnnies themselves have had a year and a half, Richmond, Mitch, I'm looking your way.

Tired of hearing about the short bench... Nova essentially plays with a 6 man rotation and they aren't half bad. Talent and coaching are the issues.

As for Simon, very tough to change form and make someone a shooter that never was. At least his free throw % has improved in conference. He has a lot to offer other than a jumper, so I am OK with that limitation.

When Lovett was playing we were doing pretty good also, with Owens as our 6th man, who's our 6th man now? Yakwe, or Trimble? Ali is our 8th man.

If this is the complaints department then may I ask s anyone else experiencing a very slow feed on redmen.com? I even had my Internet speed checked (I subscribe to 150mbps). My guess is that as from Ashworth College is not worth the bandwidth.:p

Very slow when I try to log on right after a game. Otherwise it's fine.
As for complaints, my main one is the incessant Mullin bashing on this board and another. He didn't coming begging for this, and didn't need the publicity or the money. He is probably his own worst critic anyway. He is here to recruit big time players. That's how every great coach wins. None of them ever wins with players not as good as the other guy.

My complaint are the complaints about the short bench. As annoying as it is, it is less annoying than one big all-in recruiting class, watching them mature, and then leave, and then starting from square one. I prefer to see roster balance among the classes, as opposed to the treadmill to oblivion that we have been on for far too long.

Vaid point! From the M&M class of Mussini, Lovett, Freudian slip berg, always nervous Ellison and Sima later, that is 5 players not sticking. If more this year then we have a serious retention issue and that bench will be perennially as short as the leash this staff is now on.

Never a consolation prize to have moral victories. Nobody in our program feels good. Nothing worthwhile is ever easily achieved. We will stick with each other, stay committed to knowing we are close & must earn the right to win. I know better days are ahead #sjubb

Let's not bring race into the discussion. :)

My only problem is when he says "We will stick with each other, stay committed to knowing we are close ". That is total BS! SIX players chose to leave the program one way or another who could have stayed. That's half a team roster and all before the end of the 3rd year of a so-called rebuild that was laid at the feet of the previous staff. If it takes 4 years to build a roster that may be perennial bottom dwellers there is something wrong with the roster, the staff or both.

my complain is the air in my lirr car last night was broken and it was like a freaking sauna on the way in. And in the Arena it felt a little Carnessecaish also but then again I was dressed pretty warmly
