The Tournament

Wow, city of god beat the Syracuse bunch. Both those teams are/were pretty loaded. Lots of size on City of God. DJ was the biggest kid on Overseas yesterday. That won't work next week against Sweetney, Ndiaye and Pops Mensah Bosu, but they'll be bringing back two bigs for the last weekend.

Always wondered what happened to Sweetney

If Overseas wins both DJ and Paris get $100K.

Was reviewing the Big Apple Basketball roster and saw so many familiar faces. They didn't make it to the Sweet 17. Surprising but on any given basketball court . . . http://www.thetournament.com/teams/big-apple-basketball

There was an article in the Sunday Times about the annual summer tryouts for the Korean Basketball League. The players come by invite only and play scrimages and the following day there are two draft rounds. Smush was one of those trying out but wasn't drafted.

DJ's team looked so much better than the City of Gods squad. Wow is Sweetney the fattest athlete ever or what? 400 pounds would be generous. They had like 3-4 o incredibly out of shape dudes on that team. Kobongo was twice as fast as anyone in the game. DJ plays big for them with their lack of size and depth. Both he and Paris played well. It's very unorganized. Fran mentioned St. John's about 100 times. Bader is a handful...can shoot with an inch of space and has to be guarded hard everywhere past the half-court line.

It'd be great to see two of our guys win this thing.

DJ with a behind the back pass that got loose, recovered by Horne for the layup. Up by 5 with under a minute left.

EDIT: Now, a mini brawl at center court. Looked like DJ was involved a bit, and it's going against his team (he wasn't the main culprit, though).

1 out of 2, but the other team didn't get a shot off before the buzzer, and Overseas Elite wins!!!

Congrats to DJ and Paris on their share of $1 million!

@DalyDoseOfHoops: D.J. Kennedy finishes with 24 points, Paris Horne with 10. #sjubb

Loved the coaches. :dry: Team 23's last timeout a player draws up the play while the coach stands by and tells them to foul on the inbounds. A couple of times in Overseas' time outs Paris was doing most of the talking.
