Vetrone done apparently & guess they announce shortlyMainMan post=436089 said:Only name I've heard is Greg Vertrone.
Don't know much about him other than his nickname is "Shoes," he has a good recruiting rep and his HC record at FDU was 26-95.
What's Tony Chiles up to these days?

Any reason why Demeo is out?
Don’t know enough about him to comment positively or negatively. Any idea why he was moved from Assistant Coach to Player Development role?POSTELL1 post=436095 said:Greg Shoes Vetrone has had a long standing career in the basketball world. He has recruited multiple pros to college teams. He has worked on every level of Div I and oversees. He has also coached semi-pro teams that played against college teams. He is a great recruiter and has connections not only in NYC but nationally and even internationally. The main job of assistant coaches is to get players and Vetrone will be great at that. This life long Johnnies fan would be psyched if we could get this guy on board!

That happened when Steve Pikiell took over at Rutgers. Shoes had been an assistant coach under the previous regime and when Pikiell became the head coach, he brought in his own assistants but kept Vetrone on the payroll because of his contacts and recruiting acumen, even though he was no longer eligible to go on the road to recruit.
