The Big East will receive 53 units for its basketball tournament appearances from 2012-2017

Each unit is worth 273,000 dollars each

273,000 * 53 = 14,469,000
14,469,000 / by 10 = 1,469,000 each Big East school.

Big Ten has the most units at 101. We would’ve had more if our conference didn’t break up.

How do they determine how many units a conference gets? By appearances, or some other method?

It’s determined by how far our teams advanced in the tournament. Making the tournament gives you one, The elite eight gives you four, etc.

Actually we have to thank Xavier here. I believe they contributed the biggest haul, with Nova being a close second. DePaul is the only school that didn’t contribute.
