Just skimmed it and am looking forward to reading the whole thing, thanks for posting.

I see it mentions Harkless as someone who left the NYC HS scene. It's funny, I forget that he went to Connecticut, he's always portrayed in the media as a "Queen's product."
 
NYC is still producing great players. The article spelled it out perfectly. NYC players are leaving their city HS to go to finish at other schools or prep schools.

When I was in HS a player did not qualify they were declared Prop 48. Now the kid will just do a year at a prep school to keep his year of eligibility.

NYC schools are not allowed to recruit but our kids are being recruited out of the state.

I wish the kids took more pride on where they came from instead of looking for the first ticket out.
