the best thing I saw at the game tonight

was the routine by the dance team at the 8 minute time out of the 2nd half, it was awesome. :cheer:

speaking of this did anyone see during the one dance routine, a girl did a back flip directly into a Del St player who wandered right behind her. She hit him and then face planted, lucky no one got hurt

What I saw were two girls who got participation awards in cheerleading in high school that would never make the USC cheerleading team. I know this sounds sexist but if I am going to pay to watch shit basketball I want showgirls! ;)

I think the girl may have gotten hurt actually. Rushed to the locker room after that. It looked painful.

Hopefully no serious injuries.

Dance team can move... the cheer team can use an upgrade.

Jack - are you on of the two students who wear the all red suits, with red ties ?

Can you start a campus movement to develop a fight song ? The VCU chant I saw at Atlantis pissed me off. Google it...Often ranked as one of the best in college sports. We need that.

We are not VCU. We are not even SJU! St. Joseph's beat us to that too! We seem to be always a day late and a recruit short. :(

I think the squad needs a spotter to keep players and refs clear of them. Hope she is ok.

Im old fashioned, but could someone tell the purple haired chick that it's not working?

I actually did a "where in the world is jack Williams" scan of the student section. Didnt see you on my utopia Pkwy side of the court and assume you were in the section behind the 164th st side basket. Thought i saw you in the front row but im pretty blind

That's cold dude, but I agree; the green hair was better. ;)

A fight song? The team just lost at home to an awful Delaware St. team. I think on the list of priorities, a fight song checks in pretty low. Maybe a new HC? Or an ass't that has had, you know, experience actually teaching kids. Better players would work too.

Was this it ?

Nope, this one ended two girls walking over the backs of their teammates. There were four members of the women's team sitting in front of me for the game, they were pumped too. :)

It's kind of a sign of the times, but 4-5 years ago when we had our first male dancer on the dance team, at first there were a lot of snickers. Then the guys turned out to be the focal point of most routines, was a great dancer, and SJU's dance team was in the top 5 nationally. For a school like SJU it was avant-garde, and campy I guess.

Someone told me if one dancer hadn't made a big mistake in the final round they would have finished first. That kid graduated and another guy was added, who was also a very good dancer. Again, he became the focal point. My girls loved the first guy, and both brought a lot of energy. So it's really funny, but even with a still excellent dance team, the inclusion of a guy seems to make a big difference in how the crowd responds.

They are light years ahead of the "Un-Coordinates" (for those of you who remember our dance team in the 80's).

Damn, I am feeling old.

The young man you are talking about went to the same High School as my two oldest kids who both say he was a real great guy. He was the focal point of many routines..
