The 2021 Recruiting Class

I know it's been a lot of discussion on the 2021 recruiting class and how quiet it's been. IMO, I think with the 3 scholarships that were available for this class, the staff had in mind they wanted to take a guard or wing, a forward, and a big man. I think they got one of the forwards they wanted in Traore. He's a typically CMA 4, runs the floor well, rebounds, plays defense, hustles, and does a lot of little things that helps teams win.

Now for the last 2 spots, based on the offers and how much we've been hearing about some of these guys, this is what I think their tier list is.

Big Man
1. Franck Kepnang (Has Offer)
2. Carlos Curry (Has Offer)
3. Shemani Fuller (Interest)
4. Will Henderson (Interest)

Kepnang is probably a long shot, but staff is in the mix, he's the type of player if you have a chance with you save a spot for him... if he eliminates St. John's I expect more big man offers to go out, especially JUCO big man offers, they are going to want a big that can step in and be ready to contribute right away for next year. I think guys like Fuller and Henderson they are just keeping their eyes on, and if spots open up in the Spring and those guys blossom, then I think that's when you'll see them possibly get an offer.

Guard/Wings
1. Kyle Cuffe Jr. (Offer)
2. Wesley Cardet Jr (Offer)
3. Alden Applewhite (Offer)
4. Daylen Berry (Offer)
5. Bryce Harris (Interest)
6. Michael Thomas (Interest)
7. Lynn Greer (Interest)

I think it's pretty obvious here that if Cuffe reclassifies he's the priority target among that group. They'd also probably take Wesley Cardet or Alden Applewhite if either of those guys were ready to commit as well. The rest of the guys I think they like, but probably wouldn't take a commitment right now until they see what some of these other guys do. If some spots open up in the Spring, I would imagine guys like Bryce Harris and Daylen Berry become more priority targets.
