Over the past 6+ months I have traveled a difficult road.  One very similar to Dick Vitale.  It meant missing the entire season in person.  No pre-game or postgame meals or drinks with the 114 crew. No road games.  But, I did feel the love and support of the SJU family between phone calls, texts and messages on here and well-wishes sent through Mike Maher.  They meant more than you will ever know.  Today, I am happy to report that my post-treatment scans are clear and I am in remission!  I hope to continue down this path, get stronger, allow my immune system to recover and re-join my SJU family at Red White events and games in the near future.  Until then, all I can say is Thank you!  Thank you! Thank you!

Yes, it certainly served to put on court wins and losses into perspective

Nothing is more important than this.  I logged in to get some good news and lo and behold.....I did!  So happy for you and your family.

Very happy for you.  Thanks for sharing your good news.  You lifted my spirits in these trying times.  /media/kunena/emoticons/smile.png

John, I know what it is like. Before she was killed in the accident, my wife had stage 4 endometrial cancer and was only given a 15% chance of beating it. She did though, and only due to her grit and determination as well as the support she got from her friends, family and communities.
I hope in some way that this community has helped you through these trying times. God bless and I, and the Redmen.com community, wish you continued good health.

Greg,

I am sorry.  It sounds like you have been through a lot.  It's just not fair that your wife was a warrior only to have something else happen.  I appreciate the good thoughts and well wishes.  None of us does this alone and the world would be a better place if we all realized how connected we are and how much we all need each other.  We all have a lot more in common than we don't, but don't always realize it.

Needed to hear some good news today and this is great news.  Truly awesome, I am so happy for you.

This is great news to hear. I am so happy for you. This is a wonderful community even if there seems to be some underlying tension at times. We have never met but hope we can. I passed on attending games this season due to health reasons so I may find seats in Section 104 as well next season. That seems the place to be. I get a kick out of every time Mike Maher mentions your forecasts. Wishing you continued health and happiness.
