I know it has been said a 1000 different times and for a multitude of reasons but now more than ever I wish to thank Paul for this site which brings us all together in this time of social isolation, something thank g d we have never known during our fortunate life times.
It is painful to read the paper or watch the news, whether local, national or international. However, 20 times a day at least I turn to redmen.com with great enthusiasm to read about what is going on in the world of SJU bball and SJU, thank you Paultzman and JSJ for constantly keeping us up to date. I read about how members family’s are doing in Italy , thank you 72, and throughout the Unitéd States. I know that if I was to go shopping in Huntington LI I would know where to get chicken, and what would not be in short supply, thank you MJM. On a more somber note I would love to hear from Gonzalo and I pray that he and his loved ones are well in Spain. I have not seen him post in a while and I find that somewhat concerning. I thank Jack Williams and others who start great threads to take our mind off the pandemic, stock market and constant government fighting. We all wish we could be present at Jacks graduation when his name is called. I thank Panther and Fuschia for their wonderful insight in assisting those with mental health issues and addiction problems. Their perspective and wealth of knowledge is so appreciated and more so during this time of uncertainty. We all wish we could be watching a Broadway show starring our dear friend Monte, but that is coming soon. :)
In short I thank Paul once again for the tremendous trouble and great expense he has gone through for 20 plus years to be able to keep us all connected. I thank each and every poster for their contribution in keeping us together and somewhat sane during this horrible pandemic that will hopefully end sooner than later.
G d bless everyone of you and your families and please stay safe.

So well said, RMN. Watching any news station only adds to the stress everyone is under. Without live sports to distract us, it's great to have this board to share thoughts with a group of people that have so much in common. I left NY many years ago, but still have friends and family in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and all too close to New Rochelle. They are all living with fear, as most of friends and family, over 60 like me, have pre-existing conditions. My family prays everyday that this crisis ends soon. i am especially concerned for my NY "family" which includes most people on this board. I'm very grateful that this board is here for all of us to vent and get some relief from the world, even if just for a little while.

Only get to chat with Paul now and then, but clearly he is a classy, stand up guy. Thx man for great site and all that you do to support St John’s hoops!

Agree about the news there is a fine line between keeping properly informed and falling into the abyss of the news. It is overwhelming. Keeping busy and productive is key as is lifting up the people around you.

I have been unable to contribute over the Internet. In the past I have sent a check. Please print the address.

Thanks for your kind words.

We are all OK in our family.

But it is true that the situation of Spain is not good.

There is no school since March 13th. And we can only go out for work (and since tomorrow with more restrictions), supermarket and pharmacies.

I don't think any of us would have imagined that this sports forum would become more important for us to be connected more for non sports issues than following our St. John's basketball team.
It is wonderful to hear how our fellow fans are doing across the world and share our experiences.
To think that just a month ago Mrs. 72 and I were planning trips to Hilton Head and Rome. Both were of course canceled and a long awaited wedding was postponed.
We have two homes and we were saddened to hear that there were two deaths related to Corona in a private community on Long Island where we own a condominium. Just as we were hoping to see fellow residents there at the Clubhouse, the Clubhouse has been closed indefinitely along with the pools. We have neighbors there who reside in Florida during the winter who will not be returning north this summer.
I can only say that please respect social distance guidelines and wash thoroughly once entering your homes from any outside activity as this virus protein appears quite slippery and adheres to surfaces longer than others. My cousins wife in Rome had no symptoms and continued to work in a government position where workers were working in very close quarters. She ultimately infected her mother, daughter and husband and they are all quarantined now.
Here in NYC I think things will only get worse as public transportation is still operating and the subways and trains, along with our 3 airports, have been petri dishes for infection for years and now I fear every rider is bringing the virus back to their community once they have utilized a train, bus or airplane.
Again, bless you Paul for this forum to stay connected to fellow fans.

Well said RMN...I’m not a social media guy so don’t spend hours poring over FB and IG...my obsession is reading and posting occasionally on Redmen.com each evening...grabbing the iPad and hitting the couch after work and dinner and a glass of wine or two.

It’s funny, years ago the only way to find out about recruits was to check out an occasional article in the NY Daily News/Post and sometimes even the Tablet for CHSAA announcements.

What i think is great about this site is how much of a virtual (and real) community this has become. It wasn't always this way.

Before redmen.com i basically did not know anyone from simply having attended games. I've met many of you, and even some of the people I've disagreed with even passionately and sometimes with too much emotion are really good people. I count you among my friends.

Redmen .com is my calm port in the world's storm. It's important to me to have a place to discuss basketball and get a break from stress.

I'd like to send a Thank You to Paul and the mods for this board

It's funny that you and i realized we knew each other back during school and then recently learned that you are good friends with a cousin. You're definitely one of the really good guys on here.

Paul thanks so much for creating this wonderful community that extends well beyond basketball. I’ve made some of the most incredible friendships anyone could ask for as a result of being on this site. Special thanks for putting up that beautiful picture of Diego. Prayers for you, your family and everyone who is part of this amazing and supportive community during this incomprehensibly difficult time.
