Team Johnnies was eliminated by the Marquette Alum team in the first round of TBT on Saturday. Didn't really have many players show up, just CJ, Bash, Jamal Branch and Kelvin Amayo plus some guy I never hear of. All 5 played entire game. Marquette team has a pretty good roster. Beat the SHU team in the 2nd round as well.

DJ, Paris, Justin Burrell and the rest of Overseas Elite started their march to a 4th straight title with two wins over the weekend as well. You can see their next game in the Super 16 against Lousiana United one week from Thursday on ESPN 2.

PS East and Midwest play next weekend (besides the Marquette/BE Pod for some reason). Syracuse and Ohio St rosters look loaded. Iona team has a bunch of familar names as well.

Was Jeremy Pargo on Overseas Elite last year? Not sure I remember him there. Added to a great group of guards/wings including DJ, Kyle Fogg, Deandre Kane Erick McCollum and Paris. Four bigs this year including JB.

Pretty sure Pargo was on last years' team.

Pargo was not on last year's team.

So cool to see this squad with 3 former Johnnies from the Norm/Lavin days taking no prisoners once again. I will definitely tune in for the sweet 16 game Thursday night. Let's go Johnnies & former Johnnies!

Watched the 4th quarter. First TBT game I’ve seen this year and they had an odd format of first to 87 points wins. Anyway the game was tied at 86 and the opposing team got totally robbed when a steal leading to a game-winning dunk was nullified by a reach-in foul call by the ref. Happy they advanced but really should’ve been sent packing.

They're playing with a format where they stop the game clock with 4 minutes left (first whistle under 4, I believe). They then play until they get 7 points more then the winning team has at that point. So, if somebody is up 70-66 when they stop it, they'll play until one team reaches 77 points, as an example. The hope is that this will stop automatic fouling at the end of games, which it should do.
