Taurean Thompson Leaving Syracuse?

"We have been informed that Taurean is taking a leave of absence from Syracuse University," SU coach Jim Boeheim said in a statement. "My understanding is he wants to go to school closer to home due to some family health issues."

Ugh, this couldn't get any worse.

With Diakite reclassifying and taking the last scholarship for 2017-18, we didn't have room for Thompson even if he were interested in coming to St John's

I didn't know that when I wrote the original post

Is there another sport with a higher rate of roster turnover?

Willard has a lot more going for him than luck. He has taken a program that was barely above mid major status to a top 25 status this year. He hired a top recruits high school coach in order to sign him and another unproven ass't to sign another recruit.
While some may not agree with this method of raising a programs status he was doing this while watching N. C.have hundreds of ball players get credit for fake courses, KY pull off all sorts of illegal activities and Louis. set up a house of pleasure for recruits.
Everything Willard did was legal and I would applaud him and would not be surprised if he hires Rice or the parent of another top recruit in days ahead.

Can't disagree. Seeing Rice go to SHU instead of us would be another of many bummers. Willard also has a BE tourney champship under his belt. We have 2 BE tourney victories since Lavin took over. Hard to criticize him.
