Saw in last STJ alumni magazine that he was elected to STJ Board of Trustees or something. Pretty nice honor for him.

Good for Tarik. Nice to see some of the players stay with the University. Congrats Tarik.

I see him at almost all of the alumni events that I go to. He's a very nice guy and a great representative of our school

It is the Board of Governors. He is a great guy and a fantastic representative of St. John's. The school is lucky to have him on the Board.

I was going to say Governors first but went Trustee. Goes to show to trust my first instinct :)

If I recall correCtively Tarik's father was a senior Administrator at the University of Maryland.

Didn't Tarik's brother play at Maryland?

His father kicked for the Jets.

Tarik's father is Dr. Rick Turner.

Dr. Turner served as a Dean at the University of Virginia.

Here is a cite from the New York Times which confirms that Tarik's dad, Dr. Rick Turner was a Dean at UVA.

Not sure where the tale about Tarik's father being a pro football player came from but if anyone has a cite to support the claim that Tarik's dad was other than who the New York Times says then please post it and we can perhaps ask Tarik (who reads this site) to submit to a DNA test..
