Ok, guys 6-6 in conference doesn't get you anything. The season going forward will be decided on where the team is going, and not where they've been, but:
These kids have now in relatively short order, come back from the dead to even their record. At 0-5, the season seemed so hopelessly lost. Many teams, some with professional players, throw in the towel, and fold. What these kids and the coaches have done is nothing short of remarkable. They didn't lose faith in themselves, and slowly have crawled out of a big hole.
Like I said, .500 doesn't get you anywhere but the NIT, but for these kids, it suddenly puts us in the NCAA discussion if they can keep it going and finish strong. A very improbably season may be unfolding. Now is the moment to get behind them if you haven't already.
For those short on history, note that UCONN regrouped after Hardy torched Kemba three years ago, went on a tear and won the NCAA tournament. Sure that's highly unlikely for us, but it was also unlikely for UCONN. Who thought though, that any notion comparing us to the 2011 NCAA champs would be anything but laughable after 0-5.
