Syracuse Series

Was this even discussed to extend the series ? Too bad as was looking for another beat down at the Garden this year. Kudos to staff on recent recruits ,

Rumor had it that Sarah-Cuse did not want to extend the series
They couldn't stand losing to New York's REAL college basketball team

If this is the end of the series, I'm glad we beat them the last three games we played. I can't remember the last time that happened. Maybe Mullin's playing years?

Set your way back clock. we beat them four years in a row starting with the '66-7 season. We also beat them four times in a row during the '81-2 & '82-3 seasons when we played them twice a season.

We are on the rise, gotta even up this series. Cuse going to have difficulty recruiting with Boo--heim on down stroke. We gotta get them to reup!

Coach Boeheim turns 73 years old this November 17th.

He will be 74 years old when the class off 2018 begin their season.

The recruits in the class of 2018 and beyond should be made to understand that there are not many, if any, 77 year old D1 coaches so if they commit to Syracuse University then they will not really know who their coach will be.

Honestly, Boeheim is looking more and more like one of those guys who doesn't know when to say when.

My opinion is we took a break from the series this year and it was mutual.
We typically like to play one big out of conference home game a year at MSG. This year we are playing Duke, it was also our turn to play cuse at MSG. Would not be surprised if we took a year off and it is back on next year. With the goal having Syracuse and Duke alternating at the garden every year going forward. Just my thoughts.

That's too bad. Who didn't enjoy watching Syracuse fans squirming in their seats when we whipped their behinds.

I though it was cuse who pulled the plug. Partly because they wanted to renew series with gtown and yukon, partly because they got tired of us beating them the last 3 years. ;)

OK, if Syracuse does not renew the series, who would you like to see as the out of conference school added to the schedule?

We have Duke this year not sure if it's a one shot deal. If we can set up a series of home and homes with say ucla, zona, mich st, that'd be great. Really any school from the top 5-6 conferences, except yukon  would be fine.

The booing of their own players and coach was a Hallmark Card moment for me...

May be wrong but I believe the UCONN game is part of the Jimmy V classic doubleheader. Not sure if they have a series after that.
Secondly, they are scheduled at Georgetown next year so I doubt they wanted to play two games at a big east opponent. I think this is a year to balance everything out.

I would like to UCLA again if we could do something with them. If not, Gonazaga would be an interesting choice.
We have MSG we should take advantage of it.

I would choose Kansas or Michigan State. I still remember losing to Kansas on free throws at the end of a game. I think it might have been Danny Manning. It was a great atmosphere at MSG but we just fell short.

Michigan State because I think Izzo has created a great program and it would be a good test. MSG is always great but the trips to MSU and or Kansas are always special as well.
