QUEENS, N.Y. (June 23, 2025) –
The St. John’s men’s basketball program will host “Sunday Supper,” a preseason event at Russo’s on the Bay located in Howard Beach, Queens on September 21 beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Festivities kick off with a cocktail reception before the formal sit-down, early afternoon supper at 1:30 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to join 2024-25 National Coach of the Year Rick Pitino and members of this year’s men’s basketball roster.

Tickets for “Sunday Supper” are now available for $1,000 per person and can be purchased here. The event will also feature a silent and live auction with all proceeds benefitting the reigning BIG EAST Champion St. John’s men’s basketball team.

The Red Storm is coming off a historic campaign after winning its first outright BIG EAST Regular Season title in 40 years. The Johnnies went on to capture the BIG EAST Tournament Championship, earn a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament and tied a program record with 31 victories in just the second year under the direction of Pitino.

To RSVP for the event or inquire about sponsorship opportunities, please contact Frank Shaffer at shafferf@stjohns.edu.

IIRC, this is the same price as last year.
Last year's event got a big bump in attendance because it was billed as a 100th birthday celebration for Looie. About 90 former players came. It also replaced the basketball kickoff dinner in nyc and I'm guessing this year is the same.

It will be interesting to see what attendance is like and what the format will be. In the past always had a high profile guest speaker. Last year Jayson, so close to Looie, was that guest. Looie, of course, was not well enough to attend.
