To swap a phrase from a movie about another sport: “If you build it, they will come.”

A paperwork glitch caused Elite Camp to be cancelled last year I understand. This year, who knows, but agree with Fordham re its value.

As fans of the team and more of the University, we have to be careful to not overreact.
But, we should be doing the things other high-major programs do to attract top talent.
Here’s hoping...

The problem is that when enough of these incidents are strung together, it's not an overreaction. It's just a reaction.

Let’s hope they don’t screw up Herons paperwork

There's only one guy of the four who even remotely knows how a college basketball staff should operate, but he's too busy with recruiting. And even he might not have been point person for all these non-recruiting things at his last stop.

A fifth guy probably knows how all these things should run, but he's not around anymore, right?

That is an embarrassment that can even happen.

That's why I keep saying I put the Heron waiver at 10% possibility at most. I've said repeatedly the staff will find a way to screw this up, and people say but look at all the other players receiving waivers. We are not other programs. We are uniquely dysfunctional.

These are great recruiting tools.

They'd have to host it in northern California.[/quote]

I'm both surprised and disappointed that Chris has not spent more time this summer in the New York area considering a family situation here in New York.
I don't give a flying duck about Mitch but Chris should have been more visible not only for his players, recruits but also for family.

Totally agree this is a put up or shut up year for program. Having said that, can we give the staff the benefit of the doubt going into the season? We have had some nice pickups since this time last year (Heron, Carraher, Wright) and are at least in conversation for NCAA in most pre-season write-ups. Maybe staff are doing some things right? Clearly things can get better and let's hope they do. Summer camps and ACs we haven't hired may be upsetting to some, but if things break right, just maybe we can all get behind the staff for 2018-2019.

And i say, this is beyond our 'ineptitude--perceived or real. This is a trend, that luckily has us involved, but we're incidental to its outcome.
It's about the legitimacy of the Heron Family's waiver request, the fact that transfer rules have loosened markedly in recent months, official impending transfer reforms about to kick in in October, and an opportunity for the NCAA to set a standard on the metrics to consider in granting hardships waivers.
I think I'll be right; sure in hell hope I'm not wrong...
That's a double negative--right?!?
