Students sue St. John’s University over vaccine mandate

Sure does seem like SJU is getting sued a lot lately.  4 cases that I can think of, all of which made the papers.

Students sue St. John’s University over vaccine mandate, citing ‘aborted fetal tissue’ testing

Total BS issue.  Pope Francis has been vaccinated and the Vatican doctrinal office said if there were no other vaccines available then it is morally acceptable to receive vaccines developed or tested using cell lines from aborted fetuses.  The cell lines in the 3 vaccines available utilized such cell lines that were from aborted fetuses from generations ago.  This ain't going anywhere.  Guess how mant priests and nuns have been vaccinated in NYC--nearly all.

hahaha.  this is going nowhere

These types of cells been used since the 1960s to manufacture vaccines, including current vaccines against rubella, chickenpox, hepatitis A, etc.

And they're also used on OTC drugs like acetaminophen, albuterol, aspirin, ibuprofen, Tylenol, Pepto Bismol, Tums, Lipitor, Senokot, Motrin, Maalox, Ex-Lax, Benadryl, Sudafed, Preparation H, Claritin, Prilosec, and Zoloft.

so unless these folks have never used any of these drugs (or never plan to), these claims are baseless.

A minor quibble, but I THINK the cells that they supposedly object to are in the testing not in the manufacture of the vaccine itself.

I think we have anti-vaxxers who want to make it look like they are hoisting a Catholic institution on its own petard.

They are likely not genuinely against the use of cells, but they don't like (1) vaccines or (2) mandates, and using this lawsuit to try to get their way.

It isn't my bailiwick but off the top of my head I would think that if (a) you're Catholic and (b) the Pope isn't Catholic enough for you, then that may be a "you thing" and not a "Catholicism thing."
