Students if you are going to give you tickets to friends or family please let them know they need to be aware of the following:

1.stand when opposing team is taking free throws.
2.chant Defense
3.chant Lets go Johnnies
4.Give the ref a hard time as necessary
5.help with shot clock countdown
6......

Feel free to add others that I can't remember right now

Let's make the opposing team feel like it is our home court not like a senior center.

I know this seems fundamental to those of who know it but let's have the team feel our energy.

I would add wear red to that. I agree with all of the above except for number 3. I will never chant Lets Go Johnnies. It's let's go St. John's or lets go Redmen for me.
 
We spoke about this last year. Only STUDENTS belong in student sections, but the Garden nor CA enforce this.

I think CA does a better job, at least there you have to show your student ID to sit in the areas behind the basket. Much tougher to do at the Garden b/c I don't know if the entire sections behind the basket areas are limited to students b/c of the size of those areas. There are 3 sections behind each basket (sections 7,8 & 9 are near the SJU bench and sections 1,2 & 3 are on the other end), I don't think all 6 are designated as a student section. I could be wrong but I would be surprised if all of those sections were for students. Not even sure if we have enough student season ticket holders to fill all 6 areas.

they have to be more creative if the team isn't doing well - maybe scan the ID cards of students, and based on attendance give discounts on SJU gear (which is all high profit anyway and makes a student a walking ad for the school). Winning cures all, but until then.

Someone earlier in the year mentioned in a thread that he was our Fireman Ed, Bill might be taking that comparison a little too seriously this year. :)

lol. Bill had the nerve to graduate,move and get engaged. He jumped the shark. lol

Seriously though he was one of our best fans. But the good news is it looks like he is engaged to a great girl who loves sports

Seriously though he was one of our best fans. But the good news is it looks like he is engaged to a great girl who loves sports

He lives 5 minutes away from me, no excuses for Redzone Bill. Well except the whole commuting 2 hours each way to work and planning a wedding thing I guess. But seriously he is sorely missed, against Nova there were more students there than pretty much any winter break game I can remember from my 5-year tenure in the student section with Bill and I don't think I heard one Let's Go Johnnies, De-fense or Who Brought the Douchebag chant the entire game. In his prime Bill would've led a group of 10 kids to be louder than the hacks they had in the student section on Saturday.
