Guys our own weathermannyc has been updating our 114 group the last few days and it’s starting to look real bad for Long Island potentially. Be prepared and stock up on non perishables and the storm could be here sooner than expected

The 114 guys can verify but Weathermannyc has been warning us for days he thought this could happen

First thing I do in Florida when storms are forecast is to fill the cars with fuel. The lines may be crazy already. Next is to stock up on water and canned goods. For those really sensitive to heat, a battery powered fan is a must.

did the same. Filled up my car with gas the stations are a madhouse near me then went right to the grocery store for bottled water and non perishables

I grabbed a tank of propane.

I told a friend to start his generator tomorrow, just to make sure it works.  Nothing like trying to fix something  in the dark.  Saw several people filling gas cans not likely for boats or mowing lawns.  I'll grab some cash tomorrow.  Medications are adaquate for a New York Mets fan.

Hope you LI guys stay good through Henri. Seems to have been one of those storms that have gone under the radar.

MJM congrats on your engagement BTW. I married way above my just desserts and it definitely was the right move for me (if not for her lol).

When I saw the topic, I thought we had a French signee.  Good luck guys-we left the house at the beach and headed for the hills.

PS--you will know its going to be bad if Lonnie Quinn appears in shirtsleeves on the 11PM news.

BAD NEWS re Henri---Lonnie Quinn in shirt sleeves.  /media/kunena/emoticons/shocked.png
He might be in a tank top by the end of this.

Hope all you NY Redmen remain safe as Henri passes by .  LI has always been susceptible to Hurricanes and I remember more than a few that were pretty bad !    If you see Jim Cantore from the Weather Channel around NY , you know it’s going to be a tough one .  He usually likes the Battery Park area in downtown . The Waves splashing him , etc .   I live now in the Hilton Head. Region of SCarolina .  We just waved at Henri as it didn’t impact us at all . Not a leaf off the trees .  Hope you fare as well .. stay safe .

Jim Cantore in Rhode Island . NY dodges a really bad storm .. downgraded to Tropical Storm .
Compared to what it was looking like yesterday morning we definitely dodged a big bullet on Long Island

It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it.

Hope everyone is ok, especially our New England buddies.

Got nothing besides some heavy rain here in Southern New Hampshire.  Weaksauce storm but I’ll take it.

Do we have any Rhode Island Redmen? From what I saw on the news things could have been a little dicey for you.
