"The league still feels like the Big East, it's very challenging," he said. "You need the right things in place to win and at St. John's they hired Mike Anderson, who has never had a losing season in 17 years. He has an incredible reputation and I can say he's a better person than a coach. I can learn from him and become a better coach myself."

I didn't know much about Steve's background prior to coaching Northwest Florida State College. His accomplishments at the junior college level is very impressive.

I'm even more impressed with his years as an assistant at Providence. It's just a matter of time and Steve will be Head Coach at a D1 school.

Mike was smart to hire Steve. I'm sure he's contributing a lot to the success of this seasons team.

Coach DeMeo has a great reputation with the coaches in the metro NY/NJ area & I'm sure from his time at other schools around the nation you'd hear similar thoughts. Being able to build a winning program so quickly at the JC where they won a National Championship will attest to that. Working under the leadership of Coach Anderson is only going to add too his coaching acumen. I wouldn't be surprised if he once again becomes a Head Coach in the not so distant future. Hopefully after a BIG EAST banner is hanging from the St. John's rafters. ENJOY the ride folks, the program is in good hands.
