St. Vincent DePaul

My grandfather (born in Brooklyn in 1881) was a long standing member in Holy Cross R.C. Parish, Flatbush, in the Society of St. Vincent dePaul, a leading, if not THE leading, Catholic organization for charitable giving to the poor. I remember him constantly raising money to give to the less fortunate and his family was very much working class itself. He was a proud member and had a pin he always wore for the St. Vincent dePaul Society.
