This was an exhibition game, no more and no less. A glorified scrimmage. It doesn't mean anything. Sure we got absolutely destroyed against a DII team....but it does not mean a damn thing! It was the first exhibition game of the season, so it may have been a 'just go out and play' type of attitude, and then we'll go from there. And obviously they have some things to work on.
And as for all the criticism of Mullin......
I remember when he was first hired and started putting together a roster, I questioned his hiring and also many of the players he signed (which is the ONLY reason why I am in the rookie forum by the way), and I heard responses along the lines of "we don't need any negativity on this board' and 'you are wrong, this is a great hire' and 'we are destined for greatness now' and 'how can you call yourself a true fan.'
I find it greatly ironic that those same individuals who called me out for questioning Mullin are now the first ones to criticize him. Four months ago Mullin was a god and could do no wrong, but after one exhibition game people on here are questioning his coaching methods or the lack-thereof.
I will give the board credit for one thing. I was never sure if they would be able to separate Mullin the player from Mullin the coach, and if they would be able to judge/critique Mullin solely on his coaching performance. Well the board definitely proved that they could......I just don't think it's fair to do it after one exhibition game.
