St. John's vs St. Bonaventure

Curious as to what folks on here think about these two program currently sit this season. The reason I bring it up is because as many know St. Bonaventure beat Syracuse last week (in OT) and they have the same record as we do. The Bonnies are receiving votes in both polls but we are not. The Bonnies two best wins are arguably against Maryland & Syracuse. Our two best wins are arguably against Nebraska (I say that only b/c they beat Minnesota and BC which beat Duke) and then probably UCF or Oregon St. The Bonnies lost to Niagara, we have no "bad" losses. They lost to a Top 25 team in TCU and we did as well to Arizona State. We have Div 2 Molloy on our schedule, they have three very bad Div 1 teams on theirs (3-10 Jackson St, 3-11 UMES & 6-7 Canisius).

Is their resume that much better than ours? I'm not saying that our record/strength of schedule deserves votes or a ranking for that matter, but am I missing something?

Not as much of a shocker as people assume. Before the season I posted a CBS Sports ranking of teams in every state. They had St. Bonaventure as the best team in NY, St Johns second and Syracuse third.

To me, taking care of business and not having bad losses is a sign of a mature team. Short of the Lovett injury I think we could have come out of the AZ St. game with a good win and I'm sure there will be some coming up.

I think you're just reading into the voting a bit too much. Whoever they received votes from could have been a semi local news writer. Similar to how Georgetown received votes a few weeks ago even though they'd beaten nobody.

It’s early. Conference play—where the real season starts—is about to open. Let’s do it.
