I know there are some on here that only care about the basketball program, and I respect that. However, for those that haven't noticed, St. John's is currently enjoying excellent seasons in many of it's spring sports.

Baseball - team is currently tied for first place in the Big East and currently has an overall record of 24-14.

Softball - teams is currently in first place in the Big East with an impressive 14-1 mark and 24-16 overall.

Men's Tennis - headed to NCAA Tournament after winning their 2nd straight Big East Championship

Golf - Dylan Crowley wins the 2015 Big East Individual Championship (2nd year in a row St. John's has won this).

Men's Basketball - not sure if anyone has heard but we just hired a Hall of Fame coach

Good point, thanks.

Thanks so much for this post. It's this type of success that makes to hesitate to call for Monasch's firing and be critical of those who do without looking at the big picture of our success and all the negotiations it requires (TV contracts, Big East participation) that an AD participates in.

Thanks for the summary. I follow most of SJU Sports on Twitter and it's nice to keep up with some of the other sports.....It's surprising to see success at sports that you wouldn't normally associate with an urban school from a cold weather part of the country....(golf, tennis, baseball)....we also have had an amazing fencing team for many years...

And here on Redmen.com we have a separate forum for each of those fine sports. This one is the basketball forum, made especially for folks like Lester.

Will leave this here for awhile as good advertising for the other forums, though.

This post has a line about the SJU basketball team.

That's more than can be said for the majority of the drivel on this forum of late :)

Wait a minute.....St Johns has other sports other than basketball????? Get right out of town!!! Before you know it, girls are going to want their own sports too!!

And LAX? Oh wait, we're not supposed to bring that up right now I imagine. Go Big Red and Seawolves!

I follow lax at SJU regularly. SJU in a bit of a rebuilding year this season after losing a ton of seniors last year. Still a very competitive program but a bit of a down year. I haven't written much as the third child I had 2 years ago has taken its toll on my posting frequency... Lol

When I was at St. John's , there was a Rifle Range in the basement of St John's Hall. (It had great acoustics in the hallway and several of us sang Doo Wop down there) I believe we sent a couple of "Red Riflemen" to the Olympics.

I know. I was going to put you name in my quote. But damn, Marcus, you were barely graduated and not even married when we started posting here. Heck I didn't have kids when I started posting here (or at least on AOL) and now I've got one in college. Time flies. PS time for a vasectomy.

That explains your avatar's face. :)
