St.John's RPI per RPIForecast.com

Glass half empty, huh?

We are ranked #35 in that RPI with an impressive SOS and projected SOS. What's the problem there? You guys are upset due to predictions based off an algorithm that doesn't have enough data after four games played? We lost a road game (for RPI purposes) to the #9 RPI ranked team in the country. That will be the gift that keeps on giving. We also, yet again, have a bunch of "neutral site" games coming up. Those are big for the RPI.

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/rpi has us at #19!
http://statsheet.com/mcb/rankings/RPI has us #42 and our projected SOS--get this--#7 in the country by season's end. Sure, it's really early, but that is a very good sign. I'll feel much better come New Year's, when the OOC RPI will be relatively set.

http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_Men.html has us at #35 and Wisconsin at #4. Interestingly, they have our future opponent, Youngstown St., ranked #8 due to being 3-1 with a neutral site loss to 6-0 UMass. Obviously, Youngstown doesn't have the conference to maintain that ranking and will plummet atter lose to us (and others), but if they could stay in the top 75 or top 100 by year's end, it could be a decent win.

Just a bunch of numbers on a page. This says we have a better chance of beating Syracuse then Penn State?
