The count down idea is stupid IMO. This commercial screams: "we are a basketball school first and foremost". By all means include references to the basketball team, but don't make it the central theme. We have a gorgeous campus that wasn't utilized at all, the NYC skyline has so much visual pleasure and significance yet wasn't utilized, and I know this seems shallow, but I would have had people in suits, highlighted our Law and Pharmacy programs as among the best in the nation, mentioned where alumni were employed, and then at the end mentioned the basketball accolades. I liked the quotes in the beginning like Fullbright Scholars, but the commercial could have been much better IMO.
