St Johns presidents dinner

 Went last night for the first time with my girlfriend as jerseyshorejohnny and his wife's ( who are 2 of the nicest people anyone will ever meet ) guests and it was a great event. I think they raised almost 3 million dollars.

Not much groundbreaking info. Spoke to Lavin for a few minutes and he really is impressed with Jones but I'd temper my expectaions for him. Whichever writer or whomever it was that mentioned him as one and done is off their rocker.

Didnt ask him about recruiting because it was toward the end of the evening and it just didnt seem the right time.

Billy Schaeffer was sitting at our table and it's the first time I've ever really talked to him ( ironically it turns out we live right near each other ) and he is a fantastic guy. Kevin barry whom a lot of people know here as the guy who gets things done for us was at our table too. All in all a great time. And Bruce Beck did a great job as emcee

From the time I became a member here Jersey has impressed me too as one of the kindest and most devoted fans we could ever have at St. John's! I wish we had a 1000 Jerseys! Of course, it goes without saying that there are some real super fans on redmen like Kranmars, Moose, redmennorth and many others who do not live in the NY metro area. God bless you all !!!

Class of 72 agree 100% on JSJ a true St. John's gentleman that if it were up to me would be the Chairman of the St. John's University Board of Trustees.

LOL! I meant "and the many others" like Paul, OTIS, etc. that no longer live in the metro area.
Question for MJ or Jersey--- from the posted pictures there is a young military man with a Lavin name tag. Is he related to coach?

  Dont know. I saw the person there but dont know who he was. JSJ might know because JSJ seemed to know 90 % of the people there. I think more people were stopping by to say hi to JSJ than even Fr Harrington :)

JSJ hasn't been connected to a scandal recently. People aren't afraid to end up in a pic with him. :cheer:
 
During his many years as a poster on this site JSJ has shown himself to the a well informed and knowledgeable individual that has a deep and sincere love for St. John's University. 

Although I skip reading posts of many posters I look for, and read all of JSJ's posts.
 
 Jsj is a great example of University pride. Wish more out there were like him.
