St. John's / N.Y. Times Column Today

If this is our school, real nice mention. With several other St. John's' like in Maryland, Minnesota and New Mexico, wonder which one Brooks is referring to?

It's us.....received an email from Tobin school of Business and article is referenced.....some other great achievements noted as well....

First, I am pleased to inform you that we submitted our GLOBE program to AACSB for the Entrepreneurship Spotlight Challenge and were selected to be featured! The full story is below.
Second, our Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) program has been ranked the #2 RMI program in the U.S., based on six metrics: dedicated department and faculty, specializations, advanced programming, productivity, Gamma Iota Sigma participation, and actuarial excellence.
Third, our Accounting program has been recognized as being among the top 50 baccalaureate accounting programs in the U.S. by Accounting.com. You may visit our profile, along with the rest of the ranking, by following the links in the story below.
In addition to these achievements, I would like to point you to a recent New York Times column by David Brooks. It is a nice reference to our core mission and the impact we have on our students at St. John's. Check it out at

I'm thrilled, I love the fact that our school of business is so good.

Is there any connection between St. John's and David Brooks?

On a different note, my deceased brother in law, John Tierney was inducted into the St. John's TV Hall of Fame this past Saturday night at a banquet in D'Angelo Hall. We went, we cried, they did a nice job of recognizing his brilliance, he won 14 National Emmy Awards, and was nominated 20 times. I don't know for sure but my guess is that from a national prominence point of view John Tierney might actually be the most decorated Red men ever!

St. John's University has sent so many TV and media students into the TV and media scene, I can't imagine why the school does not promote the enormous contribution the school has made to the entertainment industry.
