St. John's Intro Video

This needs to be updated with highlights from real games now. The Fordham game has all they require.......

Ja rule is a joke. Jada on the other hand has always been a top 10 rapper IMO. Still, video is nice but i could think of 20 better songs off the top of my head

What song involving NY would you have preferred?

Simplyred you may want to edit your comments in this thread...Jarule left his wife for his cellmate..That's what I hear.

And Moose I hope you didn't make this video..But if you did here are a few songs I personally prefer. They may not hit you over the head with "NY" pride but they certainly represent Queens to the fullest and NYC somewhat.

Some Mobb Deep "Shook Ones" or "Win or Lose" feat Nas Jadakiss Jay-Z

Nas "Get Down" "Memory Lane" "Halftime" "New York State of Mind"
Inhale deep like the words of my breath, I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death.
I lay puzzle as I backtrack to earlier times
Nothing's equivalent to the New York state of mind

"Victory" by B.I.G.
"Patiently Waiting" by 50 Cent
"Can't Nobody Hold Me Down" Puffy and Mase

Those are just some quick ones that I always listen to before big games to get pumped.

I had nothing to do with the video. Just curious what song you would have used. They clearly wanted a NY themed song. Lord knows we have heard Jay Z's beaten into our heads. They wanted something pretty obvious where even our older alumni will hear the chorus clearly of "I'm from NY". I know YEARS ago we used Cam'ron's Welcome to NYC so can't re-use that. And I thought we used Jay Z actually too.

I'm mostly joking when knocking the video but I would've loved some Nas or Mobb Deep in there.

Queens has produced some great athletes and arguably the best rapper of all-time, we should embrace our Queens roots rather than battling the hicks up north for who is the city's team.

Personally I say let them have the city, that message is just driven by business. If we started repping Queens we could avoid that business and handle our "bidness."

Also can we edit out the part where Marco runs around with a French flag...

Nas definitely. Probably the illest free style rapper of all time.
Rememnber "ill matic" lmfao dissed Jay Z so bad, they had a youtube clip of Jay Z on hot 97 and after hearing one song Jay Z was whining and crying lol that was to funny. Nas ripped so bad.
By the way, Nas is right "Hip hop is dead".

I don't listen to rap much but I'm curious what Jah Rule's sexual orientation has to do with this conversation.

My nomination for a great NY song for the video, Back in the New York Groove. ;)

But for the holidays I suggest A Fairytale of New York.

Didn't Jay-Z used to be a St. John's fan and go to a lot of our games at the garden? I think I remember seeing a video of him greeting the players on the way out of the locker room, during the Jarvis era.

Great Video. But we have to show Brooklyn love too. We started in BK and a few of our all time greats are Kings County born and bred. I do agree with you on the last part about Marco and his flag lol
