As some of you may recall a good friend of mine and fellow SJU alum was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia over the summer. After several months in the hospital he is responding to treatment and has even been to a couple of St. John's games. Keep the positive vibes coming.

Unfortunately cancer has show its ugly face in my household. My wife recently was found to have a cancerous tumor and is undergoing surgery tomorrow. The good news is that the cancer doesn't appear to have spread and she will hopefully be home in a few days. As a result I will be missing my first St. John's game tomorrow in a long time (I actually can't remember when I last missed a home game). She's a fighter and I have no doubt in my mind that she will pull through. I obviously won't be able to provide gameday photos tomorrow but if anyone is planning on going to the game maybe you can take some shots and post them on here. It can be your way of keeping my attendance streak alive. : )

Really sorry to hear that but hopeful regarding your friend and wife. Lots of advancements in recent years thankfully but ever easy to deal with of course. Sending prayers out to both.

Trust in God and keep positive. My wife beat breast cancer after a tough battle. I'll keep you both in my prayers.

My heart goes out to you NYC. I will keep you and your wife in my prayers and will think of you guys during the game tomorrow night - stay strong!

Will keep you and your wife in Prayer. I am a survivor of prostate and bladder cancer. Prayer helps me deal with what I am going through.

G d bless your wife NYC and may she have a painless surgery and a speedy recover. No doubt the entire Redmen.com family will be praying for her well being.

Thoughts are with your wife and family, NYC. I hope all goes well for you.

Through this board(thank you Paul) I have met and become friends with many incredible people. No one more incredible than NYCRedmen. You will not meet 2 finer people in this world then NYCR and his beautiful wife. I will continue to prayer for both of you during this most difficult time.

You are a great representative of the University. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Just gotta stay strong for her yourself.
This board is like family, yeah we fighting, argue, make jokes about others on here, but we all got one thing in common. We all are nuts about St. John's sports.

We're here for you.

NYCRedmen is one of a handful of posters whom I've had the pleasure of meeting (including you, Monte). What I remember best is that he's a great guy and a class act, and I sincerely wish the best for him and his wife, both of whom are far too young to have to deal with something like this. And I join all my fellow Redmen in praying and pulling for her complete recovery.

NYC, sorry to hear your wife is going through this, but glad to hear that your spirits and hers sound like they’re up. That’s important. Good luck to her and thoughts and prayers are with her and you. And I’m very happy to hear that your friend is doing better.
