St. John's Endowment Surpasses $300 Million

Class of 72

In 2010, it increased from 272 million in 2009---an increase of 11.5 %. It now has a larger endowment than five other Big East schools--Villanova, South Florida, DePaul, Uconn, Seton Hall. It is just 25-30 million behind West Virginia and Marquette. Please be generous even in these difficult economic times We will never be able to come close to some of the better endowed schools, especially Notre Dame with a whopping $5.2 BILLION but out of 865 U.S. & Canadian 4 year colleges and universities, St. John's is now # 180.

In the NY metro area, after Columbia, NYU and Fordham, SJ is pretty far ahead of schools like:
#228 Hofstra, $227 million
#226 Seton Hall, $162
#361 Pace, $102
#428, LIU, $74
#496, St. Francis, $59
#525, Manhattan, $53
#592, Iona, $39
#694, FDU, $24

Great post 72, nice to see in these difficult times.
If the bball team takes off in the next few seasons I can really see donations rising.

I've always been told my endowment was more than substantial...
