Media day is this Thursday, I'll be there on behalf of the Eye on the Storm podcast. Media Day will begin in a press conference format that will air live on ESPN3 produced by SJU-TV at 12:10pm starting with Joe Tartamella, followed by coach Mike Anderson at 12:50pm.

I'll be doing an episode to follow recapping media day + checking out practice. (Big East Media Day is on the 18th)

Wanted to see what questions you guys had for the staff and or players specifically as we are about three weeks from the season.

Will we ever made a final four.

Can we hear regarding first impressions of the newcomers - Curbelo, King, Storr & Jones?
They all had great summers, are great kids and will be big contributors for this program going forward.

Would you expect an answer that was anything not along those lines? Every coach says the same thing.

Media days are stupid and more and more people and coaches are realizing that.

How about their games? And the players get asked questions too.

Maybe Cragg can answer below:

Why no games this year at UBS arena? Why are there less games at MSG?
How many seats will have seat backs?
What is the new capacity at Alumni Hall?

How about their games? And the players get asked questions too.
We already know their games especially from the DR trip and a thousand other preview articles/blogs/podcasts. I just can't imagine anything unknown information of note being said at media day especially when the coaches and players are trained to give nothing but safe milquetoast answers.

Maybe it just stems from my general disdain for the media in general but media days are pretty useless overall.

Some more from Zach:

Zach reports :

1) St. John’s believes it is still very much in the mix for four star guard Carl Cherenfant

He is on a visit to Memphis at the moment

2) Posh is down to 198. Was at 215 as recently as May

One source told me (Zach) that his jumper is “night and day” compared to last year. Really has worked on it

3) Don’t expect freshman 7 footer Mohamed Keita to redshirt, two sources told me (Zach)

Staff believes he can help on defense as a rim protector in small doses.

Not patting myself on the back 🤪 but I believe I had that on Keita not redshirting. For power 6 conference teams to redshirt a kid in this climate is almost always going to be a complete waste of time.

Seems to me that Coach ain't gonna tolerate poor play this year. If you don't hustle on a play your butt will be sitting next to Zendon.

Fans have asked for the coach to set expectations, he certainly did that. He didn't dance around the subject - everything he said alludes to this being his group of players, filled with the characteristics of his best teams in the past - and the most talent in his tenure in Queens. Not much more needs to be said.

Time to win.
