St. John's Athletics & Wikipedia Page

For the longest time I've been bothered by the St. John's University Wikipedia page. I'm not sure who actually wrote the University description but it's seems like there is quite a lot of emphasis on negative aspects of the university's athletic department. For example, is there really any need to mention that "one player Sylven Landesberg chose University of Virginia because it was a superior academic school" or that "St. John's is the only team not to win an NCAA championship for basketball, and currently holds the NCAA Division I record for most NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship appearances without a championship" or how about the whole section dedicated to the "St. John's Lacrosse Team Scandal" which ironically mentions a lot more than the lacrosse scandal? Don't get me me wrong, I am not saying that these aren't facts that shouldn't be mentioned (although I have no idea why the Landesberg quote is listed) but shouldn't these facts be more footnotes than main subjects? Just look at other schools Wikipedia pages and you'll see the difference. Another area that bothered me was the overall look of the page, very few photos about the school or athletics. To that end I made some changes to spruce up the page, I've added 14 photos to page including 4 to the athletics section. Now if only someone can re-write the overall page, any writers out there with overall knowledge of the University? :)

FYI, the St. John's Wikipedia page is:(New_York_City)

Thanks JSJ. It looks like the Landesberg comment has been taken down, still shaking my head at that one. Not sure what bothered me more, the fact that someone felt the need to throw that in or how long it was allowed to be there before today.

anyone can edit wikipedia - including you. Overall the editors do a commendable job. I don't know what the current environment is but there have been cases in the past where pages have been edited to embarrass celebrities or make political statements for example but it is easier to slip in subtle errors or maliciousness.

I see what you mean, thanks.
