St. John's and Duke to Rekindle Series?

This is great news. The Duke-St. John's rivalry is great for both schools and it is great for college basketball. We should be playing as many marquee games at MSG as we can. We should have a very competitive team this seaosn.
 
This is great news. I think the team will be excited to play against the number 1 ranked class. Hopefully, we can get results like UCONN did in the finals.

Going forward I feel we need to have 2 marquee games a year at MSG. Maybe 2nd Marquee game as Holiday Festival Game.

Secondly, I do think we should play 4 big east games on campus; a lot of these games are not draws and a poor atmosphere at MSG is not good. If we can play 5 Big East games at MSG then add 2 Marquee games there I think a total of 9 (Includes NIT would be just about right. Creighton and Butler should not be at MSG next year and I would think maybe adding Providence and Seton Hall might not be bad.

sorry i wouldn't call this series a rivalry. i am not sure if this game is going to be on fs1. my gut tells me it will be on CBS.
 
I think we should play the five original Big East teams at the Garden. I guess I am still living in the 80's.

True. 20 meetings all-time doesn't really equate to a true rivalry. Still, it is a nice series and it is almost always on CBS for the whole country to see. Two private schools with rich tradition going at it at two of the best venues in college basketball.

Don't want to take any games away from MSG, it's our # 1 recruiting tool.
 
The Duke/Syr game , the Holiday Festival game and the Vill and Geo games are the only games that should be played at MSG every year. If any other top national teams are scheduled OK but to play any of the other Big East teams there in most years creates a terrible atmosphere .
Play them at CA or part of a MSG doubleheader that can draw ten thousand fans. Games played at MSG before seven thousand fans is not the way to go.
