The annual St John's Hall of Fame Induction will be held in October. New basketball members will be Felipe Lopez and Da'Shena Stevens, both outstanding players and people who are most deserved honorees.

Keegan Bradley and Joe Russo are among the other notable honorees.

Congratulations to all of the 2021 members of the St John's Hall of Fame and many thanks for your contributions to the St John's athletics program.

I thought those above were inducted last year and now there would be a new group to be chosen for this year.

Is there an existing list of all SJU men’s basketball hall of famers?

I would love to debate some names of who may not be in who deserves a shot ???

When does D’Angelo Harrison become eligible asking for a friend
Jack I believe he is eligible this season.

There are so many notable SJU basketball players not in the Hall, that D'Angelo is not a slam dunk.   I am in favor though.

Nice list of men's basketball HOFers. I hadn't seen this before. One anomaly that stands out to me is Frank Alagia being in and Joe Depre & Mark Jackson not in.  Depre was just a much better basketball player for us than Frank imho.

Is metta in? He’s got to be a part of it.

No one from that Elite Eight  team is in. I am assuming since Felipe is just getting in, Artest is not eligible yet?

Is college degree required? Reason I ask is I see Mullin not inducted until 2014 or so, and believe finished degree later in career.

Mark Jackson the biggest  name not in the hall I think Mike Cragg should rectify that ASAP.

Other names:

Ron Artest
Marcus Hatten
D'Angelo Harrison

Borderline guys: Jayson Williams (but his baggage may be too much) Zendon Hamilton, Rob Werdann, Boo Harvey. Tyrone Grant, Lavar Postell there are probably other borderline guys, but we need to have a proper debate on. Whats great is that Redmen.com is well represented  on the HOF committee.

Non players
Ron Linfonte belongs was at SJU forever, great guy.
Dennis Myron

Baseball
Ed Blankmeyer
Joe Panik

Mullin's induction was delayed for years because of his schedule as an nba player and executive. And as an announcer.

Some other athletes have also had inductions delayed for similar reasons.

There are rules of eligibility for both athletes and coaches, and these are evolving.  A player is not eligible for 5 seasons.

With former coaches, players, and even a former and active AD on the board, it is a fantastic group that spans almost 80 years of association with the university.   Coaches Carnesecca and Kaiser have witnessed an awful lot of our history, incredibly including the 1952 ncaa finalists.  Mind blowing to think about.

We have a rich athletic history that we all can celebrate that goes far beyond men's basketball.

NCJohnnie, great mention of DePre, who like many former student athletes deserves a light shined upon him.

Please consider nominating student athletes in any sport, and feel free to add a narrative of why you feel they are worthy of co consideration

We've had so many great student athletes and the HOF is an important way to celebrate the importance of athletics to our university and our broad community of students, alumni, and fans.

Send nominations to Stephen Dombroski (dombross@stjohns.edu

19854ever and sju14, great suggestions.   We had a superb class last year, with Keegan, Felipe, and Chris Wingert among others as Athletes, and Yuri Gelman and Joe Russo as superb coaches.

JackinVirginia has a great perspective on guys who played baseball for SJU in his era so I hope you nominate some Jack.
