Apparently AD Cragg is busy deal making

St. John’s secured a deal with FitBiomics to be the athletic department’s official probiotic company. What’s interesting is FitBiomics will also offer “unprecedented NIL opportunities to every student-athlete.” As Mit Winter, a Kansas City-based sports attorney, noted on Twitter, there is no NCAA rule prohibiting schools from facilitating NIL deals. Yes, some state laws and school policies prohibit it. But it is permitted in Utah, for instance, where https://www.on3.com/news/utah-business-offers-to-pay-tuition-to-byu-walk-ons-nil/]BYU facilitated a much-publicized deal with Built Bar for its walk-on football players.

Interesting to see a basketball alum stepping up to support the school.  Dr. John Scheiman was walk on for 4 years from 2000 to 2003.  Also a very bright guy and CEO of Fitbiomics.

This is nice to see but reality is that it won't be enough..

U of Kentucky freshman signed an NIL with a Porsche dealership

would have hoped at least Champagnie would have gotten some decent name brand (even if NY only) deals by now..

Not to bring up Repole, but as an example a Body Armor signing would have been big. Get Champ or Posh on a billboard in Times Square.

Have been wondering- any of our guys- Julian notably- sign any sponsorship deals? NYC guy on a couple preseason All-America lists.... would think i would have seen his face across some ad locally atleast.

Saw the Clemson QB appear in a Dr Pepper ad the other week.... that had to pay some nice change.

Simple answer is college sports are all they have in places like S Car, Ala, Miss, Kent.  In NYC there are 8 pro teams (plus WNBA and 2 pro soccer teams) with a lot more "marketable" athletes.  NYC will not be a place for a college athlete to find a lot of folks knocking on the door unless the athlete has a Huge Social Media following and is considered an "influencer".  Julian has only about  2,000 followers

"Hi, I'm Posh Alexander for Ridgewood Savings Bank. Have you ever considered refinancing your home? With interest rates at a  historical low, now's the time to...."

The joke is that Jim B and Syracuse has been doing this for decades. There have been multiple stories how recruits and athletes at SU have been steered to a Downtown Boys Club, and through that to local restaurateurs, car dealers, insurance salesmen for promotion, no show jobs and "gifts" in exchange for the good will they garner for the establishment.

Since Syracuse is not NYC, much easier to sell.

Julian would be a natural for "Miller High Life, the Champagnie of Bottle Beers" (sorry MJMJ couldn't think of one for Bronx Pale Ale)

Posh now that Alexander's is out of business, needs one for the Posh Boutique from the RHONJ in Wayne NJ.
