Skype and Facetime can handle that issue.

Somewhere Mullin and Richmond are saying "wait, this is new? I thought it was standard!!"........I kid, I kid lol j/k

Honestly, I think they should give the kids who are out of eligibility an opt in additional year of eligibility if they so choose. Let teams expand the roster for one year. You claim to really care about the student athlete then grant them a hardship waiver. Some kids may have had there dream crushed to play in the Tournament wiped out. Why not give them another shot.

I know it won’t ever happen and I’m sure people will come up with a thousand reasons why not but if the schools really cared this would be on the table. Of course, sadly, all about the money.

Was thinking this same thing today. Seems way more reasonable than hoping and praying for May Madness.

For all we know the Spring Recruiting Events may be cancelled. If you are a top rated kid do you want to expose yourself to the virus, especially when you see NCAA and pro teams canceling/suspending?

Venmo more effective.

As of this minute the Adidas recruiting events in Louisville and Omaha Nebraska scheduled for the end of April have not been cancelled. However, we are expecting that they will be. There is also the Nike Eybl circuit. Will let you all know if in fact they are cancelled. These are huge spring recruiting events.

Yeah it sucks but no. They had a complete season. Several conferences had already played and completed their tournaments. Some of the spring sports are a different story as they jus got up and running.

SEC suspends all on- and off-campus recruiting through at least March 30.

I haven't been able to find a similar statement from the Big East. Are they dragging out this decision too?

It hurts football because they're recruiting now. SEC, the spring signing period for basketball begins on April 15 and runs through May 20. Big East probably has the same dates?

A lot can change by April 15. Coronavirus might be worse or maybe the situation will improve.

Just an aside on those who criticized Mullin and his staff for poor recruiting .. Earlington , Roberts , Williams , Trimble , Caraher , Steere were all brought on board by Chis , Matt, etc .Throw in transfers , Herron, Figgy , Simon and Clark . Of course , there were misfires too. Eli Wright , Mikey Dixon . Ponds was Mullin ‘s Best recruit . Just saying , it’s only fair to balance the ledger . I do agree that Coach Anderson has done good work in developing the sophomores that Mullin recruited . Tariq Owens went to Texas Tech and did well . I think it’s a bit unfair to blame his 5 th year exodus on Mullin . Tariq wanted a bigger role on a contending team . He , essentially played the same role at TT but , got a lot more exposure there by being in the NCAA finals and realized his dream by playing in the NBA . Good for him .

Very nice point Sly F in regard to Chris Mullin and his recruits:
Earlington , Roberts , Williams , Trimble , Caraher , Steere !
Let’s keep moving on toward the Gonzaga Villanova small catholic non- football level!
Every reason we can - back to where we once were.

Yeah I don’t agree here. We finished 9th in the conference being extremely “coached-up” and needed to land last-minute kids like Dunn, Rutherford, Champagnie etc to keep it together. Some of our young bench players were able to transition well to starting roles and we had a sneaky-decent season. I think it’s a testament to the coaching by Anderson and the kids rising to the occasion as to why we hung in as well as we did. Mullin left us with little though overall.

A little more talent coming in will help greatly . And , sooner or later , Coach Anderson hopefully can bring in that impact recruit that can be a Program changer . Mentioning Few and Wright at their schools is a good point .. They have developed a BB model that is repeated year in, year out .. They bring in quality kids that fit their style . They lose key players every year but , have the same kind of player coming in to replace them . For example , Archiadiacino was replaced by Gillespie . Didn’t miss a beat . There were others too . Few has a knack in getting 7 ‘ players who can play , even if just for a year or 2. Anderson has his BB model too, and will bring in kids that fit that system . I do think , unless the player is a exceptional talent , that small guards don’t work well in the BE . One of the problems with Dunn is he small and gets Blocked a lot going to the hoop . And , he’s not a great outside shooter which would give the defense more to worry about . The lanky 6’3” guards in the Conference usually bottle him up pretty well . Especially the second time around the Conference schedule as they know his game . I see him as a off the bench player next season . A igniter when he’s in there . Have a good off season . Stay well.

You know I truly don't understand the reason behind your post.
We are finally all happy, with respect to SJU bball.
There has not been a negative post in 2 days.
We appreciate Coach Anderson and his staff's work ethic in coaching, recruiting, academic progress, discipline, tight rules, no drama, no transfers, in being a part of the local community and the way the season ended so positively, and you come around to piss on the parade by bringing up the former staff.
What purpose does that serve ???
Why can't you let sleeping dogs lie ?
SMH.
Lets be clear, the prior staff had nothing to do with the development of Williams, Earlington, Roberts, Champagnie, Rutherford, Dunn, Spears or Caraher. CMA had to recruit Herron and LJ, and the prior staff did leave him with Steere, Keita and Wright.
Lets please not reinvent history and lets give credit where credit is due.
CMA deserves a ton of credit for getting this rag tag group to win 17.5 games, to upset Creighton, Providence, Arizona, West Virginia.

Another deficiency w Matt’s recruiting were the duds. Players like Eli, Keita, Steere, Dixon who transferred after 1 semester really hurt .Add that to all the transfers sitting out a year and it lead to real depth problems.
