Spring Lake BBQ / Change of Date / New Date: Saturday, August 12

Kevin, I have a conflict on Aug. 12th, but I wish everyone who can make it down to the BBQ have a great time. Hopefully another time I will be able to make it.

I'm sure everyone who attends knows this, but if shanley attends then everyone has to lineup to shakes the great man's hand. He's responsible for our joy right now. If not for him then I'm sure some mid major would be here and the board would be dead right now just like the last 20 summers, and we'd be told oh give him 4 or 5 years and most likely he would have failed.

Shanley said nah screw that, I'm the boss here and I want Rick and damn it I'm bringing him.

And omg look what him bringing Rick here has done. Crazy press, top kids are coming, top 25 right off the bat.

He will be there he was there last year. Last year I complained about the Carnesseca AC to him. This year I might weep when I see him for getting us Pitino

Great seeing bunch of friends there. Kevin of course and also a lot if our 114 crew OlV72,Ralph,Darrin,Jersey John, David Russell ( he sits in media and nycredmen on the floor taking pics every gave but they are part of our 114 crew.)

Most importantly our buddy wearhermannyc who as people remember has been battling bad illness last few years but is well on the road to recovery.

Great seeing Panther and his awesome wife and grand daughter and if Panther can convince his wife to go to Charleston ( both her and Nathalie’s birthdays are that week ) then I have to get some credit because I told Panthers wife that we want to take them to Charleston for their birthdays and its a great coincidence that St. John’s is playing there that weekend. Lol

Also great to see newsman13 been way too long ( newsie was at our original Redmen party like 20 years ago or whatever it was ). SigEp09 see you at Novita !

Thank you Mike and Ralph for the extremely kind and generous words !

The event is an outsized success only because loyal and dedicated alumni like yourselves (and others such as those Mike mentioned his post) attend.

I'm always amazed that there are many who attend from Long Island and Westchester

I greatly appreciate everyone who make the long trip

As an aside, the oldest alumnus to attend was a member of the Class of 1955

He went to NYU Dental after St. John's and currently lives in Short Hills, NJ
